welcome to Portland’s most inclusive co-working space: openHAUS

Hey HAUSmate,

Welcome to openHAUS! We are a Black-owned, women-owned and operated business seeking to create space for all people to achieve their most inspired and industrious work. Here our coworkers don’t just rent a desk, they have a place to land, community to tap into, and resources ready to deploy in order to work better and use that work to better the world. We believe that we rise by lifting others and by using our unique privileges for the betterment of our communities and HAUSmates.

Our three C’s are co-working, connection, and champion. Through our time working together and sharing our co-working space, we connect, and we champion each other as we embark on our own paths. It is this connection and respect of openHAUS’ inclusivity that means checking yourself and any -isms you may have at the door. Here we’re serious about our work and serious about our safety. In this anti-fuckery space racism, ableism, sexism, classism, and ageism- aren’t allowed. Please be respectful of HAUSrules.

When navigating that creation and the need for this space and how it would serve community the team wanted to encapsulate everything that we are. The initial thoughts of the owners included that we are a product of our environment, life outside of the microcosm, the cure for social disease, and the symbiotic balance of wholeness. We are a bridge, a village, a refuge. We are openHUAS, welcome home!
