We do an equity check-in on our business practices and values periodically because it is a strong goal of ours to be inclusive. After participating in a conference for coworking and seeing the holes in other people’s equitable practices it got us talking with some like minded coworking space operators and we found an opportunity to explore a new lens for practicing equity. Equitable pricing!
Here’s the concept: Pay what you will coWORKing
Our hotdesk membership brings all the amazing access for you to grow your business, get out of the home office with your remote job or support your dream of a great work/life balance. It’s perfect for small business owners, writers, artists, remote workers, freelancers, thinkers, dreamers, connectors, do-ers and more. It includes 24 hour space access, use of our wifi/printers/coffee/meeting rooms and member events. We have this membership level listed at $222/month but here’s where the experiment comes in.
We think that there are enough of you out there that can use this membership level meaningfully but the fee has perhaps been a barrier of access, or a financial investment that hasn't made sense for your journey. We want to tear down that barrier and recognize that you definitely have valuable contributions to make to our community and space. Sign up and pay what you will! We also think there are enough of you out there that can use this membership meaningfully and have a budget to accommodate the $222 and maybe more. If you can pay more, please do and offset the cost of removing the barrier of access for those that can't.

Here’s the deets we’ve thought of so far:

good at either one of our 2 awesome locations (Dream Street at NE MLK and Alberta & Chinatown at NW Davis and 2nd)
pay what you will memberships are offered only through the month of June while we assess the experiment.
it is our goal to honor pay what you can memberships for a minimum of 3 months unless the experiment is an epic fail. We will do our best to negotiate all pay what you can members to continue to support you in the unlikely event that we have to shorten the experimental window.
some monetary contribution is required if you desire a key and 24 hour access
you must agree to our membership terms prior to access being granted
this is an experiment and we don’t know what to expect, we are co-creating this experiment together and will communicate adjustments as they are required.
We are just figuring this out, and you, our members, alumni, and community are the first to find out. We would love your feedback and input as we go!
